There
are many misconceptions about hypnosis. Is hypnosis really sleep? Is
the hypnotist controlling me? What if they find out all my secrets? Or
the most common question, will the hypnotist make me bark like a
dog or quack like a duck?
When
under hypnosis you have total control. You are completely aware and
alert during the session, in fact, you are an active participant. All
hypnosis is self-hypnosis. Your hypnotist is there to guide you to a
state of altered consciousness where your subconscious mind is able to
reveal any blocks and allow change techniques to effectively
accomplish your goals.
Most
people feel very relaxed while in hypnosis, so to the onlooker it
appears that they are in a deep sleep. However, the person is alert
and in fact has heightened senses. They hear all sounds, but are
able to focus very clearly and remember everything that
happens in the session.
Many
of our clients are surprised at just how relaxing a hypnosis session
is. |
